Biography

Dr. Alison Newby has a background in Latin American studies as she did a postdoctoral Program in Latin American Studies and the Office of Population Research at Princeton University. She is currently conducting a research in different aspects of Mexican migration to the United States.  She is also involved in an ongoing project on the cultural and religious uses of elemental mercury in Latin American and Afro-Caribbean cultures. Her countries of expertise are Mexico and Cuba.
